The inaugural event in 2015 was initiated to send young adults to World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland in the summer of 2016. This was a life-changing opportunity for four college students that deepened their faith and gave them a new passion to lead, serve and advocate change locally and globally. Not only were four young adults funded to attend World Youth Day, but the generous support from the event allowed the Shalom House and Love INC of Boone County to receive sizeable gifts.
Since 2016 several young adults have been able to attend World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland, Panama City, Panama and Lisbon, Portugal. These pilgrimages were events that changed their lives. In addition, funds were donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry to support those in need in Boone County and those parishioners attending the National Catholic Youth Conference and SEEK Conference.
The next World Youth Day is in Seoul, Korea in 2027 and with the support of so many, more young adults from our parish will be able to experience a pilgrimage that will transform their lives.
