The inaugural event in 2015 was initiated to send young adults to World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland in the summer of 2016. This was a life-changing opportunity for four college students that deepened their faith and gave them a new passion to lead, serve and advocate change locally and globally. Not only were four young adults funded to attend World Youth Day, but the generous support from the event allowed the Shalom House and Love INC of Boone County to receive sizeable gifts.
In January 2019 four young adults were able to attend World Youth Day in Panama City, Panama. Once again this was an event that changed their lives. In addition, funds were donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry to support those in need in Boone County and those parishioners attending the National Catholic Youth Conference in 2021.
The next World Youth Day is in Lisbon, Portugal in 2023 and with the support of so many, more young adults from our parish will be able to experience a pilgrimage that will transform their lives.
